Model C revealed at Velofollies
Opium showed the Model C in public for the first time at Velofollies, held at Kortrijk Xpo from 16 to 18 January 2026. It was the 18th edition of the show.
The Model C is built for the ride to work. It assists up to 45 km/h, which places it in the speed pedelec category rather than among standard e-bikes.
Two frame types are offered. The Diamond Frame keeps the classic high top tube. The Low Entry drops it, so the rider steps through instead of swinging a leg over. Both are available with the Smart.Shift electronic gearbox or with a mechanical drivetrain.
Every Opium is designed, painted and assembled in Switzerland. In an industry where most frames are finished abroad and shipped in, that is rare.
The new colours were on the stand at Kortrijk. Opium offers 18 colourways across the line-up, in a category where two or three is the norm.
Velofollies is the largest cycling show in Belgium and one of the first on the European calendar each year, which makes it the natural place to open a model year.
